HomeTrust
For homeowners & businesses

One score. Nine factors. Impossible to buy.

Every business on HomeTrust earns a Trust Score out of 98. The same formula, calculated the same way, for every business, regardless of subscription plan. No field related to payment or plan tier is ever part of the calculation, by design.

What the score is based on

Nine verifiable factors, summing to a maximum of 98 points.

12 pts

License Verification

Confirmed against state licensing records where available, re-verified monthly.

12 pts

Insurance Verification

General liability on file and current, re-verified monthly.

15 pts

Verified Reviews

Reviews from real homeowners, each tied to a documented, completed project.

13 pts

Completed Projects

A track record of finished, documented work, not just a profile.

10 pts

Response Time

How quickly a business replies to a homeowner's first message.

10 pts

Review Consistency

Steady quality over time, not a handful of great reviews followed by silence.

10 pts

Photo Documentation

Before/during/after photos on real projects, proof rather than stock images.

8 pts

Years on Platform

Tenure and a sustained track record on HomeTrust specifically.

8 pts

Profile Completeness

A fully filled-out profile (pricing, service area, bio) so homeowners have real information.

Why the maximum is 98, not 100.

It's intentional. Trust is never a finished project. There's always more a business can demonstrate: another verified review, another documented project, another year of consistent work. A perfect, un-improvable score wouldn't reflect that. A business at 98 renders a gold Trust ring instead of sage. It's the platform's way of saying this is as trusted as it gets.

What a high score means when you're hiring someone

It can't be purchased

No plan, no subscription tier, no ad spend moves this number. A business at 94 earned every one of those points the same way a business at 60 would have to.

It's the only ranking signal

Search results are ordered by Trust Score and relevance. Full stop. The businesses you see first are the ones with the strongest verified track record, not the biggest marketing budget.

It's always current

The score recalculates the moment something changes (a new review, a re-verified license), not on some quarterly schedule. What you see is current.
